Who are we?

We’re blacksmiths affiliated with the Adventurer/Blacksmith Guild. We dedicate ourselves to crafting powerful weapons for adventurers, while they, in turn, provide us with the necessary materials collected from their expeditions.

What races exist in this world?

There are several races in this world. Humans are the most widespread across the land. Elves, on the other hand, are few in number and tend to keep to themselves. Then, there are dwarves and halflings, who people often confuse with each other due to their similar stature. Orcs are like larger versions of goblins, and the beastfolk have thick fur, walk on two legs, and speak the common language.

Why do people go out to fight monsters?

There used to be no monsters in this world until the miasma spread like a tidal wave, bringing all sorts of creatures with it. To fend off the monster swarms, people gathered and formed cities.

While the kingdom’s official army defends the walls, civilians often go out to hunt monsters for materials or other reasons. To manage these civilian hunters, the Adventurer’s Guild was established.

Over time, people noticed that the miasma moved around but never covered populated areas. The monsters inside the miasma are much stronger, so most stopped exploring it altogether. One day, the miasma stopped moving and gathered in specific regions, becoming forbidden zones due to the high concentration.

The Guild’s tasks shifted from rescue missions and material gathering inside the miasma to ensuring safe trade routes and guarding caravans.

Years later, some people developed a resistance to the miasma, and rumors began circulating among adventurers. It’s said that there’s a lord at the center of each miasma zone, and if you defeat the lord, the miasma will disperse.

Many adventurers claim to have fought these lords, but they’re often found unconscious by guild patrols outside the miasma, so their stories are mostly doubted.

How do adventurers fight?

Because the miasma corrodes their weapons and armor, adventurers can’t use them for long. They can only carry basic gear when they go out. Once they enter the miasma, we blacksmiths forge new weapons and send them in as support.
