About Traditional Chinese Interface

If you want to play this game in Traditional Chinese interface, you have to change your region and language to Chinese(Traditional, Taiwan) in your OS. The steps in Windows 10 are as following: 1. On Windows menu, press system settings. 2. Choose "language"(on the left). Under preferred language, add a language “Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan)”. 3. Choose "region"(on the left), set "Regional format" as Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan). 4. Choose "language"(on the left), click "Administrative language settings". And then choose "Administrative", press "Change system locale". Change it to Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) without checking "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support". 5. It might ask you to restart.

Some issues you might encounter when launching games

1. Chinese game records cannot be load in English version, vice versa. 2. Sometimes your antivirus software might delete the executable files. You have to set an exception of your antivirus software and redownload the game. 3. If both Achi4.exe and The Birthday.exe are in the folder, but the game cannot be launched. You can try to play under Windows 7 compatibility mode. Right click on “The Birthday.exe” and select properties, and then set it there. If all the methods above still failed to launch the game, you could leave a message on Steam forum.

This is a game made by RPG Maker 2003. The purpose of this game is searching and collecting totally 24 candles. Players have to search candles and try to figure out how to solve problems by items they found to obtain the candles. You can control the protagonist like an RPG, but there are not including monsters, battles, levels, weapons, armors, and sleeping in this game. You can still obtain some items and money to solve the problems. There are also including some events can be triggered. For whom doesn’t care these events or the players who are not playing the first time, who can use the function “skip events” to ignore these events in game. There is a timer running in the background of the game, and it will change the time period of the day. Game time would be paused during certain statuses such as entering menu, triggering events, and playing in sub-games. Not including the pause time, there are totally 3 hours from dawn to dark. You have to finish the mission before it’s dark. Furthermore, some events can only be triggered in specific time period. Thus, players can skip current time period by pressing shift button. The only time period cannot be skipped is twilight. Even if there is a “puzzle” tag, there is actually no puzzle in game. However, sometimes you have to think how to solve the situation you encountered in game. When you encounter hingers, you can think what items you had seen and might be useful. Go back to investigate them, you might figure out you can take them now. Even though there are tags with exploration and investigation, it’s actually no difference with an RPG. The only different is you cannot take these items anytime. They can only be taken when the protagonist realizes it’s useful. For the tag “choices matter”, there are only some in game. The choices you made cannot be reversed. If you make a wrong decision, some candles might be missed and you cannot obtain them anymore.
