Ethereal Rift is a procedurally generated ARPG based around crafting builds, gathering items and hack and slash combat. Each level is designed to be played in one sitting, with each attempt granting you access to different and more powerful build options.

Fight for cosmic order!

You are a spirit born into the ether, created to protect life and maintain cosmic order.

The dark spirits from the void have been taking over the middle worlds, stealing bodies and taking territories.
The void is strong, however there are still beings in the middle worlds who are not yet corrupted by darkness and they have granted them the power to act through them. Your job is to use their bodies to defeat the enemy and push them back into the void that they came from.

Take on the middle worlds with pseudo Roguelike gameplay.

Each time you take a new host, you will be weak and without a means to defend yourself, you must gather resources and find equipment, helping those aligned with you and killing those who are not. As you progress you will become strong enough to take on the void spirits who are infiltrating that world, leading to epic boss battles that will take skill, timing and preparation to overcome. However, should you die and cant find a suitable host in time you will lose all progress in that world and be forced to return to the ether

Craft powerful and unique builds.

As you progress through the worlds your host will level up and get stronger, although how they get stronger is up to you. Before possessing your host you will assign helper spirits called whisps to one level each, and as you reach that level the whisp will grant you its blessing.

Engage in special boss fights in your spirit form.

Defeating a spirit is not as easy as just killing its corporeal body. You must capture and engage them in your spirit form to overcome them.

Play with friends!

Ethereal Rift is playable by yourself, or with up to 3 other friends, and they can drop in and out in the same save game whenever you return to the ether. Stuck on a tough boss? get some friends around and take them down as a team!

Explore new worlds.

Take your time and explore the procedurally generated worlds, each one extremely unique and beautiful, and teeming with hidden secrets for those willing to look.
